So.

fedora
I've had me an interesting life, I suppose, for the past few weeks. I don't really want to talk about it overmuch, as a great deal of it hasn't been pleasant. Suffice it to say that I'm gradually getting back into the internet-type things I enjoyed before, although I'm trying to keep it form overwhelming me. No Word of Warcraft, fewer webcomics and only a few forums to lurk on. I suppose I might start reposting here a little more, just to keep up with those of you I rarely see in the real world- Jackie, Rina and Tori, for instance. Some points of my life, for your interest:

-I've left work now, as of two days ago, so I'll be returning to university. I'll be doing religion and history, mostly, but probably with some philosophy and litereature as well, 'cause everyone likes those! It feels weird to go back. Particularly as I'll be doing first year stuff again; the little newbies are going to irk me no end, I'm sure. Heh.

-I'm strongly considering taking up a martial art. Something medieval, like quarterstaff. My always-lovely girlfriend Tam is going to have a conversation with Dark Age bossman Randall and I'll probably join his little coterie. If I can overcome my absolute and completely unjustified terror of him, that is.

-I have children!...Two adorable guinea pigs. One is small, sleek and chaotic named Paintbrush, whitish with black, brown and grey adornments, while the other is larger, tufted and placid named Dorsal. She white but also decorated, but mostly grey and darker shades. They're absolutely adorable and Tam takes care of them- I've little aptitude for taking care of small, furry creatures. I have long since acknowledged that I'm a lazy animal and completely irresponsible.

-I've joined the ranks of the pierced, with a trio of metal rings through my upper right ear. It really did hurt a great deal, but mostly the lower of the three. Apparently my skin tightened quite considerably and there was some difficulty in getting the ring into my ear. The other two did not hurt nearly so much, but I did squeal like a baby girl. I am in fact a girl's blouse. I acknowledge this. Having said all that, I'm very pleased with them. They indeed look very nifty.

-I've moved house, for those of you in my real world. Email me for my new address; it's only down the road from the old one, so your old excuses for never visiting can still apply. Tori, I'm lookin' at you, girl.

-Sorry is not fish.

-I was given a bass guitar for Christmas and fully intend to learn to play. I've not attempted to be musical for many, many years. I'm awaiting, with baited breath, how this is going to turn out. Heh.

-I've been getting some reading done and now that I've quit work and have taken up uni, I may make book reviews the subjects of updates. I'm certainly not going to do that silly 3-times-a-week idea I had. I cannot make any kind of schedule, so I won't bother. I will instead attempt to make one update a week, tak? That seems reasonable.

This means that for the next semester I wish to accomplish the following:

-3 university subjects, with no mark below a 6.
-Some work on my diploma of private investigation, giving it the same amount of time as 1 uni subject.
-One post here per week.
-No more than two hours a 'workday' on the 'net not doing uni work- this is for my online projects such as warhammer rules creation.
-Half an hour bass practise a day.
-Half an hour staff practise a day.
-An hour of miniature painting or so a day.
-Two/Three role-play sessions, nights or weekends only per week.
-Sundays or something at whichever martial art I choose.
-Riding my bicycle to university each day. That's going to be fun.

This is all easily possible, right? This is where I laugh bitterly and expect to fail miserably at some of these. Still, at least I'll never be bored. Spare time will be filled with reading, watching TV series/movies (Farscape is the current TV series of choice, and then I'll finish watching Serial Experiments: Lain, which I started and never finished months ago.) and playing video games. Wee, fun.

-Tori is a god at writing. I'm so, so jealous. Very many congratulations to you, for some exquisite work with your drabbles.

I think that covers most of it. Love, all.

-Brenton

! An update!

...son of a WHORE, I could have used LJ's irritating new "nudge" feature, and it didn't occur to me.

In any case, much luck with those...semester...resolution thingies. If you need someone to threaten you into it, I have some awesomely sharp knitting needles, and I know how to use them.

I COULD email you for your address, but odds are on that I'll just end up at Indooroopilly one day and call you and whine at you to show me where you live :D In any case, I've moved too. Obviously, because...Taiwan. But now, I have a shiny new house and there's a BAR even, and I need to have a big random party one of these days.

You must tell me of this PI diploma thing, and speaking on! University as in I shall see you around campus?

Karina used the 'nudge' at the same time you emailed me, entertainingly.

If you are going to St Lucia, you will indeed see me about the campus. I think I may go phone you presently, as I am bored and going out soon.

You should come to Aiki-Tai-Jutsu [www.warriorway.net]. All the cool kids are doing it! Not just me, but Xie & Paul also.
It's like, first 4 lessons free and stuff.

I don't know if you'd fit in though - they're obsessed with Firefly, Delta Green, and Mr. Stabby.
